Dr Michael Harris

Dr. Michael Harris currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the University of the West of England and also as a Senior Lecturer in Policing & Criminology at Bristol Therapy - Blazing Soul, where a person-centered approach to wellness is emphasized. In addition to academic roles, Michael is an active Union Representative for the University and College Union, focusing on resolving issues related to pay and conditions. Michael also holds a long-standing position as a Karate Instructor at Bristol Karate Centre, showcasing significant achievements in competitive karate. Previous experience includes serving as a Police Detective Sergeant with Avon and Somerset Constabulary and undertaking various educational roles, culminating in multiple advanced degrees in criminology, psychology, and policing. Current educational pursuits include a Master of Science in Psychology of Mental Health & Wellbeing.
