Joseph Weerts

Joseph Weerts has extensive experience in the medical field, serving as President of the French-speaking Chamber of Recognition in Surgery since October 2010 and previously holding the position from October 2010 to September 2011. Currently, Joseph Weerts also leads the UEMS-Section of Surgery as President since May 2016. In addition, Joseph Weerts has been a surgeon at CHC asbl since August 1980. Early career experience includes training as a surgical trainee at Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa, from August 1977 to July 1978. Joseph Weerts holds a degree as a Medical Doctor from the University of Liege (1968-1975) and is a fully-qualified surgeon, having completed a General Surgery Residency Program at the University of Louvain (1975-1980).
