Gilbert Kamuntu

Gilbert Kamuntu is the Chief Commercial Officer at Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) since February 2019, where responsibilities include commercial structuring, economic analysis, managing strategic joint ventures, and developing crude oil marketing and trading strategies. Prior to UNOC, Gilbert held positions at Tullow Oil as a Senior Commercial Advisor and Commercial Advisor for East Africa, as well as roles at Shell, where duties encompassed strategic consulting and financial analysis. Early in the career, Gilbert worked as a Sales and Marketing Executive at ANET Credit Reference Bureau and as a Management Trainee at Jubilee Insurance Company. Gilbert holds an MBA in Strategic Management from Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, a Master's Degree in Petroleum Finance from the University of Dundee, and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, complemented by a course in Project and Infrastructure Finance from London Business School.
