Marc D. Miller

President And Chief Executive Officer at Universal Health Services

Marc D. Miller serves as the President of Universal Health Services, Inc. (NYSE – “UHS”) a position he has held since 2009. He began his career at UHS in 1995 and has held various positions at the local hospital level and the Corporate level up to and including being a member of the UHS Board of Directors and serving on its Executive Committee and the Finance Committee.

UHS is a Fortune 500 company headquartered in King of Prussia, PA. With more than 81,000 employees, it is one of the largest and most respected hospital management companies in the nation and owns and operates through its subsidiaries more than 350 facilities in 37 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom.

During Mr. Miller’s 20-year tenure at UHS he has served as Chief Operating Officer at Wellington Regional Medical Center in Florida and Assistant Administrator of the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. He also was Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Central Montgomery Medical Center in Pennsylvania before assuming executive leadership roles at the company’s Corporate Headquarters in King of Prussia, PA.

Among Mr. Miller’s corporate roles, he served as Group Director responsible for the company’s acute care operations in Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Florida; Eastern Region Vice President of the Acute Care Division for four years; Senior Vice President and Co-head of the UHS Acute Care Division, and President of the Acute Care Division.

He also is a member of the Board of Directors of Universal Health Realty Income Trust, a real estate investment trust that currently has investments in 65 properties located in 20 states.

Mr. Miller graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and he holds a Master of Business Administration Degree in Healthcare from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is active with the Wharton Health Care Club and the Wharton Health Care Business Conference.
