Junior Counsel at UK Covid-19 Inquiry

Zeenat Islam is a proficient legal professional currently serving as Junior Counsel at the UK Covid-19 Inquiry and as a Barrister at Temple Garden Chambers, both since May 2022. As a Legally Qualified Chair for the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service and a Panel Member for Redress Scotland since April and November 2021 respectively, Zeenat plays a critical role in public appointments related to abuse redress. Formerly involved in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry as Junior Counsel until September 2024, Zeenat has extensive experience in criminal defense, including terrorism law and social justice. Zeenat’s consultancy and training initiatives focus on lawyering, equity, and social impact. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Warwick, an LLM from the London School of Economics, and completion of the Bar Professional Training Course from the University of Law.
