Laura Nordstrom, MPA has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Laura'smost recent position is as the Director of Research Operations at Ulster County starting in January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Legislative Aide at HYDE PARK, TOWN OF INC from February 2021 to December 2021. In 2021, they also ran as the Democratic and Working Families Party Candidate for Alderwoman of Ward 7 in the City of Kingston, New York. From 2019 to 2020, Laura served as a District Office Representative at the New York State Assembly. Laura also held positions at YMCA of Kingston, RUPCO, Inc., Boys & Girls Club of Kingston, Dutchess BOCES, and Global Crossroad, where they gained experience in youth development, program coordination, community outreach, and research. Laura holds an MPA degree and has a strong background in policy advocacy, program management, and community engagement.

Prior to their MPA, Laura earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Anthropology from SUNY New Paltz, attending from 2005 to 2007. Additionally, they obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts & Humanities from Dutchess Community College, where they studied from 2003 to 2005.
