Alena Feltman

Alena Feltman's work experience includes a role as a Senior Software Development Engineer at Ulteig, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Microsoft from 2016 to 2023 as a Software Engineer II. At Microsoft, they worked on Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics 365 Finance, where they created a debugging tool, migrated legacy code, worked with AI algorithms, and improved usability of the products.

Before joining Microsoft, Alena worked at Western University from 2012 to 2016. There, they were a Graduate Research Assistant, conducting computer simulations, analyzing data, and visualizing results using C++, MPI, and Mathematica. Alena also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching Matlab and Maple to students and providing support during lab sessions and tutorials.

In 2015, Alena was a Data Science Fellow at S2DS (Science to Data Science), where they received training in data science tools and software. Additionally, they worked on a real commercial data science problem as part of a small team.

In 2009, Alena worked at the System of Distance Education in Saratov State University. Initially, they worked as a UI Designer, designing web pages and symbols. Later, they transitioned into web development, creating and editing pages using HTML/CSS and JavaScript.

Alena Feltman's education history includes obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Soft Matter from Western University, where they studied from 2012 to 2016. Before that, they earned a Specialist degree (equivalent to a Bachelor's and Master's) in Optimal Control and Quaternions from Saratov State University named after N.G. Chernyshevsky, where they studied from 2006 to 2012. Additionally, in September 2015, Alena Feltman received a certification from Pivigo for completing the S2DS 2015 London program.
