Andrew Kramer, Ph.D., CEM, CMVP, has a diverse work experience spanning from 2006 to the present. Currently, they serve as an Energy Market Modeling Engineer at Ulteig, where they utilize their energy market background and the premier market modeling tool, PLEXOS, to help clients understand pricing impacts and risks associated with renewable and other generation options. Andrew'sanalysis includes LMP forecasting, curtailment risk assessment, and capacity expansion impact analysis.

From 2017 to 2022, Andrew worked as a Senior New Business Project Manager at NIPSCO, where they performed project analysis and management for potential gas and electric customers. Andrew collaborated with internal stakeholders and directly interacted with customers to assess the feasibility of projects and ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and reliability criteria.

Prior to that, from 2015 to 2017, they served as a Lead Resource Planning Analyst at NiSource, where they led the capacity expansion component of a 2016 IRP. Andrew developed optimized capacity expansion alternatives, collaborated with internal stakeholders, and contributed to company planning.

Andrew's earlier roles at NIPSCO, from 2012 to 2015, included Operations Engineer and Senior Demand Side Management Analyst. As an Operations Engineer, they performed engineering and statistical analysis related to production modeling, emphasizing understanding generation dispatch and commitment. In their role as a Senior Demand Side Management Analyst, they reviewed evaluator and vendor saving calculations and applied savings to resource planning, considering a range of classes from heavy industrial to residential.

Before their industry experience, Andrew worked at Purdue University from 2006 to 2012. Andrew held various roles as a student and teacher, teaching courses such as Introductory Mechanics, Electromagnetism, and Optics, and running lectures, labs, and recitations.

Additionally, Andrew had a brief consulting role at a Large Data Center in 2007 as a Consultant.

Andrew Kramer, Ph.D., CEM, CMVP has a strong educational background in physics, with a focus on applied physics. Andrew completed their Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in Electrical Computer Engineering at Purdue University from 2001 to 2005. Andrew then pursued a Masters of Science degree in Physics at the same university from 2005 to 2008. Andrew went on to obtain their Doctorate of Philosophy in Physics from Purdue University between 2006 and 2012, further deepening their expertise in the field.

In addition to their academic achievements, Andrew Kramer has also obtained certifications in the energy sector. Andrew became a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) through the Association of Energy Engineers in March 2017. Andrew recently acquired the Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) certification from the same institution in January 2022.
