Agis Chartsias

Agis Chartsias has worked in a variety of roles since 2012. Agis began their career as a Software Developer at Winterwell Associates in 2012, then moved to PALO as a Research and Development Engineer in 2014. That same year, they also worked as a Software Engineer and Data Scientist at Actual Analytics. In 2015, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Adapptive Limited. From 2016 to 2020, they worked at The University of Edinburgh as a Doctoral Researcher, where they conducted research on Deep Learning on medical image analysis, computer vision, image synthesis and segmentation, multimodal images, disentangled representation learning. Agis also co-supervised dissertations of two MSc students and acted as an article reviewer for technical journals and conferences. In 2020, they worked at Ultromics as a Lead Deep Learning Scientist, Senior Deep Learning Scientist and Deep Learning Research Scientist. Additionally, they worked as a Data Scientist at Broadcaster & Publisher Optimisation (B&PO) in 2020.

Agis Chartsias completed a 5-year diploma in Electronic & Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete between 2003 and 2010. Agis then attended The University of Edinburgh, where they earned an MSc in Artificial Intelligence in 2011-2012. Agis continued their studies at The University of Edinburgh, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Deep Learning on Medical Image Analysis in 2016-2020.
