Josh Preston

Josh Preston is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in site reliability engineering and cloud infrastructure architecture. Currently serving as a Site Reliability Engineer at Umbra since July 2022, Josh previously held positions as a Cloud Infrastructure Architect IV at UC Santa Barbara from February 2020 to July 2022 and as a Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer at LogicMonitor from April 2016 to February 2020. Josh's earlier tenure at UC Santa Barbara spanned from August 1998 to April 2016, where responsibilities included managing a team for Linux, network, and virtualization infrastructure, as well as overseeing a small team of system administrators. Proficient in Linux administration, particularly with CentOS, Ubuntu, and ArchLinux, Josh has a solid background in integrating monitoring platforms and developing code in Groovy and PowerShell to optimize infrastructure operations.
