Lora Harris

Lora Harris has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental science and research. Lora started their career as an intern at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories in 1994. Lora later joined the Marine Biological Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Scientist from 2005 to 2007. In 2021, they took on the role of USM Wilson H. Elkins Endowed Professorship at the University of Maryland. Lora then became a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Helsinki from January to June 2022. In 2023, they will be joining the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science as an Associate Director of Research. Overall, Lora Harris has gained extensive experience in research and education in the field of environmental science.

Lora Harris earned their Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from Smith College in 1998. Lora then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography at the URI Graduate School of Oceanography from 2000 to 2006.
