Chris Gates

Chris Gates is an accomplished professional in bioinformatics and software engineering, currently serving as the Managing Director of the Bioinformatics Core at the University of Michigan since June 2013. This role involves overseeing a multidisciplinary team to facilitate effective communication and impactful collaborations across numerous biological research projects. Previously, Chris held the position of Director of Product Informatics at Compendia Bioscience, leading the development of software products to assist cancer researchers. With a robust background that includes consulting and implementation roles for various organizations, Chris has extensive experience in enhancing data systems and mining applications. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Oberlin College.
