Imon Basu

Imon Basu is a dedicated social worker with extensive experience in supporting caregivers of children with disabilities. Currently employed at Ummeed Child Development Center since June 2021, Imon facilitates rights-based training for caregivers and professionals. Prior roles include junior social worker responsibilities focusing on caregiver support and various internships and student positions that involved data collection, advocacy, mentoring, and resource mobilization in organizations such as Grameen Shramik Pratishthan and Biswa Gouri Charitable Trust. Notably, Imon worked at the Girls Observation Home in Ulhasnagar, engaging with Juvenile Justice Boards and the community. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Social Work with a focus on Disability Studies and Action from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Fergusson College.
