Eunice Wischnewski has extensive experience in communications and environmental advocacy, currently serving as the Lead on press and media at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) since May 2009. In this role, Eunice oversees strategic communications, public outreach, and the marketing of corporate products, and was instrumental in developing the Convention's gender strategy from 2014 to 2018. Prior to UNCCD, Eunice worked as an Editor and Writer for the International Institute for Sustainable Development, managing multinational consultant teams to produce reports on UN environmental conferences. Eunice's earlier roles include a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Syracuse University, a Consultant Editor for the Earth Negotiations Bulletin, and Coordinator for EcoNews Africa, where strategic leadership and capacity building were pivotal. Eunice holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Arts in Political Science from Syracuse University and a Master of Policy Studies from the University of Zimbabwe.
