Rowell Daniels

Rowell Daniels has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on pharmacy operations and clinical practice. Rowell started their career as a Pharmacy Resident at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in 1993. From there, they joined UTMB as an Associate Director of Pharmacy from 1995 to 1998.

In 1998, Daniels joined UNC Hospitals as an Assistant Director of Pharmacy. Rowell then advanced to the role of Associate Director of Pharmacy in 2002. In 2007, they took on the position of Director of Pharmacy at UNC Hospitals, responsible for overseeing all inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services.

From 2010 to 2012, Daniels worked at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as the Associate Dean and later the Executive Associate Dean of Pharmacy Clinical Practice. In these roles, they contributed to the strategic, financial, operational, and academic planning of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

Returning to UNC Hospitals in 2015, Daniels became the System Vice President of Pharmacy. Rowell served in this role until 2020 when they took on the position of Interim Chief Operations Officer. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Operating Officer at UNC Hospitals.

Rowell Daniels began their education at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in 1986. Rowell pursued a degree in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies and completed their Associate of Science (A.S.) in 1988. Afterward, Daniels enrolled at The University of Georgia in 1988 and obtained their Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) degree in 1991. Following their undergraduate studies, Daniels continued their education at The University of Georgia and earned a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from 1991 to 1993. Finally, Daniels attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1993 to 1995, where they completed their Master of Science (M.S.) in Clinical, Hospital, and Managed Care Pharmacy.
