Amalia Navarro

Amalia Navarro is an accomplished communications leader with extensive experience in both national and international organizations. Currently serving as Chief of Communication and External Relations at UNCTAD, Amalia oversees the Communications Team and develops strategic communications plans aligned with global trade, development economics, and climate agendas. Previous roles include Director of Communications at the Secretaría General Iberoamericana, where Amalia led communications for Ibero-American Summits and managed media relations across 22 member states. At UNDP, Amalia coordinated global communications for the Millennium Development Goals, and has held key positions in organizations such as UNICEF, Médecins Sans Frontières, and the Museo Nacional del Prado, demonstrating a strong background in advocacy, resource mobilization, and strategic communications. Amalia Navarro's educational qualifications include a degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and executive education at institutions such as the London School of Economics and Harvard Kennedy School.
