Sean Rueter

Sean Rueter is a seasoned data engineering professional with extensive experience in the technology sector. Currently serving as a Senior Data Engineer at Understood.org since June 2022, Sean previously held multiple roles at GBG Loqate from 2010 to September 2021, culminating in the position of Manager – Data Engineer. In this capacity, Sean oversaw three business units, directing the design and execution of data engineering initiatives while enhancing technology stacks for scalable data pipelines. Sean's earlier roles at Loqate included Data Manager, where significant projects such as geographic hierarchy mapping and the creation of an expert system were successfully completed, alongside positions in data engineering, infrastructure management, and software engineering. Educationally, Sean holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from California State University - East Bay and a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from UC Santa Barbara.
