Marie Angelique Southern currently serves as an Assistant Researcher at the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) since September 2023. Previously, Marie held the position of Outreach and Lifestyle Coordinator at the Schooling Encouragement Foundation from May 2022 to June 2023 and worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Two Year LL.M. Program at Georgetown University Law Center from August 2020 to May 2022. Additional experience includes an Innovation Hub Intern role at CARE from June 2019 to December 2019 and an Honors Intern position at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) during the summer of 2018. Marie holds a Master of Arts in Linguistics from Georgetown University (2020-2022) and a degree in International Studies with a focus on Chinese Studies from Spelman College (2016-2020). Furthermore, Marie obtained a TEFL Certification for Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language through CIEE Council on International Educational Exchange between June and September 2022.
