Darshana Warnasekara

Darshana Warnasekara has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades.

Darshana currently holds the position of Head of Learning and Development at Union Assurance PLC, starting in September 2022.

Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Manager at LOLC Life Assurance from May 2021 to September 2022.

From April 2019 to April 2021, Darshana served as a Cluster Lead Trainer at Union Assurance PLC.

Darshana also has experience as the Chief Operating Officer at Ruhunu Food (PVT) Ltd from May 2014 to May 2019.

Before that, they worked at Sri Lanka Insurance as a Senior Executive - Training & Development from October 2008 to September 2014.

Darshana has also worked as a Regional Manager at Aviva USA from May 2007 to September 2008, and as a Branch Manager at LIC from May 2005 to May 2006.

In addition, they have held the role of Senior Business Promotion Executive at Janashakthi Life from September 2003 to August 2005, and Executive in charge at Ceylinco Life Insurance Limited from August 2001 to August 2003.

Overall, Darshana has held various managerial roles and gained extensive experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on training, development, and operations.

Darshana Warnasekara attended the University of Visual & Performing Arts from 1998 to 2001. Prior to that, they studied primary and secondary education at Gankanda Central College from 1987 to 1996. Darshana also holds an Advanced Diploma in Teaching Training & Assessing Learning from City & Guilds-UK. They further pursued an Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management from the National Institute of Business Management. Additionally, Darshana completed training in Training & Development at the National Insurance Academy, Pune. They also obtained a National Diploma in Career Guidance Counselling from the Sri Lanka Foundation. Lastly, Darshana pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wolverhampton.
