Hyong Yi

Hyong Yi is an experienced public administration professional with a diverse background in government operations, strategic planning, and budgeting. Currently serving as the Public Works Administrator for Union County, NC since June 2019, Hyong previously held roles including Assistant City Manager for the City of Charlotte and Director of Management and Budget for Mecklenburg County. Expertise encompasses environmental initiatives, SMART cities, and performance management. Hyong also served as Director of Operations and Planning for the Government of the District of Columbia and held operational roles at KPMG and the DC Government. Hyong holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, both from American University.
