Mark Specht

Mark Specht has a diverse professional background in energy analysis and environmental research. Currently serving as the Western States Energy Manager and Senior Analyst at the Union of Concerned Scientists since April 2018, Mark previously held roles including Senior Energy Analyst and Energy Analyst within the same organization. Prior work includes an Energy Analyst position at Ascend Analytics and a Sales Associate role at Solar Universe. Mark's experience also encompasses legislative work at Seven Generations Ahead and academic roles at Northwestern University, where responsibilities included serving as a Python Teaching Assistant and Undergraduate Researcher. Additionally, a research internship at NOAA further complemented Mark's expertise. Mark earned a Bachelor's Degree in Integrated Science and Science in Human Culture from Northwestern University and a Master's Degree in Philosophy from the University of Otago.
