Mariano Kostelec has a diverse work experience in various companies and organizations. Mariano is the Co-founder & CEO of StudentFinance, a Global Career Mobility Fintech platform. At StudentFinance, they focus on reskilling and upskilling the global workforce. Mariano is also a Pledger at Founders Pledge, where they support charitable causes. In 2011, Mariano co-founded UniPlaces, a company that aims to solve student accommodation problems globally. Mariano was also a member of Entrepreneur Organization and Sandbox Network, which are communities of young achievers and innovators. Earlier in their career, they held roles such as Managing Director at Wimdu China, Sales Director at GaoPeng (Groupon China), and Director of International Business Development - Asia at Groupon. Mariano has also co-founded and managed InternationalConnect, a student relocation business that achieved significant revenue growth. Additionally, Mariano served as London Co-Chair and Advisory Board member at the National Consortium of University Entrepreneurs.
Mariano Kostelec completed the Oxford Fintech Programme at The University of Oxford Saïd Business School in 2018. Prior to that, they earned a BSc in Computer Science with Management from King's College London from 2007 to 2011. In their earlier education, they attended Gimnazija Novo mesto in Slovenia from 2004 to 2007 and Lycee International de Saint Germain en Laye in France from 2001 to 2004, although no specific degrees or fields of study were specified for these institutions.
