Daniel Leonard has worked in various positions in the field of patient advocacy and regulatory affairs. Daniel started their career as a Regulatory Affairs Associate at Genzyme Corporation, where they were responsible for registering and maintaining regulatory approvals for enzyme replacement therapy products. Daniel then moved on to become a Manager and later a Senior Manager of Patient Advocacy at Genzyme, where they developed collaborations with patient advocacy groups and championed the patient perspective within the company. After that, they joined uniQure as the Director and later the Senior Director of Global Patient Advocacy, where they built the advocacy function and managed various advocacy activities. Daniel Leonard's work experience demonstrates their expertise in patient advocacy, regulatory affairs, and building strong relationships with patient communities.

Daniel Leonard obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1992. Daniel later pursued Japanese Language and Literature, earning a Master of Arts degree from the same university between 1997 and 1999. Additionally, they obtained a Language Certificate in Japanese from Middlebury College in 1996.
