Israt Jahan Dowel

Israt Jahan Dowel is a dedicated healthcare professional with a wealth of experience in palliative care and project management within global health. Currently serving as a Director on the Advisory Board of the Swedish Organization for Global Health and as a Palliative Care Physician at United Hospital Limited, Israt has a strong background in consulting, training, and leading healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes. Previous roles include Project Lead and Strategic Planner at the Bangladesh Palliative and Supportive Care Foundation, where responsibilities encompassed project design and stakeholder collaboration, as well as a leadership position within the Swedish Institute Network for Future Global Leaders. Israt's medical journey began with a Bachelor in Medicine and Bachelor in Surgery from East West Medical College and further developed through a Master of Public Health from Lund University and specialized training in palliative care.
