Nina Marino

Nina Marino, MSW, LCSW, serves as the Director of Community Engagement & Government Affairs at UMFS since November 2023. With extensive experience in child welfare and mental health, Nina Marino operates a consulting practice focused on trauma-informed care and high-quality supervision for child welfare jurisdictions and mental health providers. Formerly, Nina Marino held leadership roles at the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Center for Adoption Support and Education, where responsibilities included program development and oversight of case management programs. With a foundation in psychotherapy, Nina Marino has contributed significantly through various positions, including at the Annie E. Casey Foundation and Lutheran Family Services of VA, emphasizing trauma-informed care and innovative practices in the child welfare system. Educational credentials include a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media from Northern Arizona University.
