Anis Mahfoudh is a highly experienced human rights professional currently serving as the Regional Coordinator for the capacity building portfolio at the United Nations Human Rights since August 2019, overseeing four countries in West Africa and focusing on human rights developments. Prior to this role, Anis worked as a Human Rights Officer and Field Coordinator with MONUSCO, facilitating the implementation of human rights mandates, and held the position of Regional Advisor at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, where social development issues were analyzed. Anis has held various roles within the United Nations Human Rights from 2011 to 2017, focusing on research, case analysis, and cooperation with national authorities and civil society. Anis began a career in law at a private law firm from 2006 to 2011 and holds advanced degrees in comparative law and international legal studies from prestigious institutions including the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne and Université Tunis Carthage.
