Human Rights Officer at United Nations Human Rights

Kane Idrissa has extensive experience in human rights, currently serving as a Human Rights Officer at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) since April 2005. Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting human rights violations, training law enforcement officials and civil society, drafting public reports, and coordinating the Universal Periodic Review processes. Prior to this role, Kane Idrissa acted as Deputy Director of the OHCHR Country Office in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and served as a Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Mauritania to the United Nations in Geneva from May 2000 to February 2002. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate in International Relations from the Institut des Relations Internationales du Cameroun and a Master's degree in International Public Law from the University of Dakar, Senegal.
