Carlos Serrano Mesa

Carlos Serrano Mesa is a highly experienced professional in explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and operations management. Currently serving as the UNMAS EOD Team Leader Officer since January 2024, Carlos conducts risk assessments and coordinates EOD operations with local authorities and international agencies. Previously held positions include Chief Operations Officer at Aldra Alameen Security Services and Regional Area Coordinator & Pre-Deployment Team Manager at UNMAS, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing mine action activities and training national instructors. Carlos has a robust background with the Légion étrangère, serving in various EOD and combat diving roles, and possesses specialized training in counter-improvised explosive devices through NATO. Carlos holds an EOD 3 certification along with qualifications as an instructor in C-IED and combat engineering.
