Mark Connelly has extensive experience in mine action and explosive ordnance disposal, currently serving as Chief of Mine Action Programme for the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) since April 2005. Connelly participates in various initiatives, including supporting UNMAS Iraq and leading the Abyei programme's contract review. Previous roles include overseeing operations in multiple contexts, such as supporting AMISOM forces, managing rapid response programs after explosive incidents, and conducting quality assurance for commercial contracts. Connelly's background encompasses significant technical advisory positions with various organizations, extensive fieldwork in EOD operations, and managerial experience in high-risk environments, including a decade with the British Army's Royal Engineers.
