Jose Balea

Director of Quality Enhancement at UNITED NEEDS AND ABILITIES INC

Although, Dr. Balea was born in Cuba, he grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and pursued a premedical-studies at Catholic University in Washington DC. Upon completing a medical degree from Centro de Estudios Tecnicos (CETEC), Santo Domingo, he went on to complete post graduate medical studies in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the Lenox Hill Hospital and Cornell Medical Center in New York.

Currently, Dr. Balea is the Director of Quality Enhancement at UNA and oversees the Quality Standing Committee, which serves all the programs supported through United Needs and Abilities, Inc.

Working in the not-for-profit healthcare sector since 1991, Dr. Balea has also served the community as a past Director of the Wicomico County Medical Society and as a part-time instructor at Wor-Wic Community College.

Dr. Jose’ Balea is a resident of Wicomico County and continues to be very involved in the community by serving on the Board of Directors for several not-for-profit organizations here on the shore.
