Mike Deterra

International Affairs Officer- Partnerships Division, Plans & Policy Directorate at United States Cyber Command

Mike DeTerra has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Cryptologic Linguist in the US Army, where they provided linguistic support and authored intelligence reports. Mike then worked as a Congressional Staff Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives, conducting research, preparing briefings, and collaborating with federal agencies. Mike also spent time as a Parliamentary Research Assistant in the U.K. House of Commons, assisting with research projects and building relationships with representatives. In the National Security Agency, they served as a Senior Analyst and later as the Deputy Chief of the Policy Directorate, where they established relationships with various government entities and international partners. Mike then worked at Booz Allen Hamilton as an International Affairs Officer, advising senior leaders on international relations and country-specific cybersecurity capabilities. Currently, they are employed at U.S. Cyber Command as an International Affairs Officer in the Partnerships Division, Plans & Policy Directorate.

Mike DeTerra received a Bachelor's degree in Politics with a Concentration in International Relations from The Catholic University of America, which they completed in 2011. In 2013, they pursued a Certificate in the Serbian-Croatian Language Immersion Program (12-month version) at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center.
