John Scappini

John Scappini is a seasoned communications and public affairs professional with extensive experience in writing, editing, and project management. Currently serving as a Publishing & Public Affairs Specialist at the United States Sentencing Commission since March 2020, John previously held positions as a Communications and Development Associate at the Pro Bono Institute and an Associate Content Development Editor at SAGE Publishing. John has demonstrated expertise in creating and analyzing various communication materials, managing complex projects, and utilizing analytics to enhance performance outcomes. Earlier roles include serving as a Media Analyst at Carma, where a co-authored analysis received a nomination for the 2015 AMEC award, and as an Information Specialist at Foi Services Inc Library. John earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Writing from Ithaca College in 2010.
