Angela Beckman, LMSW has a strong background in volunteer services and engagement, with over a decade of experience working for organizations such as the United Way for Southeastern Michigan and the Greater Kalamazoo United Way. Angela started their career as a Community Planning and Fund Distribution Intern at the Greater Kalamazoo United Way in 2003 before moving on to become a Great Lakes PeaceJam Program Assistant Intern. In 2005, they joined the United Way for Southeastern Michigan as a Volunteer Program Associate and later served as a Volunteer Program Specialist and Manager of Volunteer Services. Currently, Angela holds the position of Senior Director, Engagement at the United Way for Southeastern Michigan, where they are responsible for spearheading the planning and development of large- and small-scale projects and events for nonprofit partners. Angela'srole also involves driving volunteer engagement from corporations, nonprofits, community groups, and individuals to support diverse project needs and achieve established goals. Angela's notable achievement includes leading the department in engaging more than 13,000 volunteers in over 45,000 hours of service in 2020.
Angela Beckman, LMSW, holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Western Michigan University, as well as a Bachelor of Social Work degree with minors in Substance Abuse, Sociology, and Interdisciplinary studies from the same University. Angela is also a licensed Master's Social Worker recognized by the Michigan Board of Social Work.
