Monique Blough

Project Director, The Social Impact Lab Alberta at United Way of Calgary and Area

Monique Blough has extensive work experience in various leadership positions. Monique is currently serving as a Project Director at the United Way of Calgary and Area, leading The Social Impact Lab Alberta. Prior to this, they worked at Communo as a Special Projects Account Lead and at Cult Collective Ltd. as the Vice President of Client Engagement. Monique also held several roles at J5, including Director of Strategy & Design, where they created a series exploring responsible disruption, and Director of Social Impact Strategy. Additionally, they worked as the Director of Strategy and Design at The Social Impact Lab, a partnership between J5 and United Way of Calgary and Area. Earlier in their career, Monique served as the Managing Director at BlackSquare Inc., where they were responsible for guiding the change process and building a culture of continuous improvement. Monique also held leadership positions at Chaordix and Zedi, where they focused on strategic vision, innovation, and brand management. Monique started their career at CleverbyDesign/Captivate Communications and later worked as the Manager of Brand at Servus Credit Union. Throughout their career, Monique has demonstrated a strong focus on social impact, innovation, and strategic marketing.

Monique Blough attended the University of Alberta from 1991 to 1994, where they studied Education. Monique later enrolled in the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and completed a Business Administration degree with a focus on Marketing in 1996. Monique also obtained additional certifications, including Systems Practice from Acumen Academy in 2021 and Real-time Advertising Fundamentals from Quantcast in 2017.
