Bill Bowes

Bill Bowes has extensive experience in fire service management and education. Currently serving as a retired professional from the Fire Service since April 2023, Bill has held the position of Fire Chief at the Papillion Fire Department since March 2006. Bill is also a volunteer on the Community Investment Review Team for the United Way of the Midlands since 2012. Previously, Bill was a part-time instructor at the University of Nebraska from 2002 to December 2020, and held various roles including Firefighter, Captain, Paramedic, and Battalion Chief with the Omaha Fire Department from 1984 to 2006. Bill began a teaching career at Bellevue Christian Academy from 1981 to 1984, focusing on junior and senior high math and science, while also coaching girls' volleyball and boys' soccer. Bill holds a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with concentrations in Math and Physical Education from Asbury University and an Associate's Degree in Fire Protection Technology from Pikes Peak State College.
