Andrew Abrams

Andrew Abrams, CIPM, currently serves as Senior Director of Privacy and Cybersecurity at United Way Worldwide since December 2017, where responsibilities include developing privacy and cybersecurity practices across the global United Way network. Previously, Andrew held roles as Vice President and Director of Information Technology at United Way of Greater Portland, managing IT operations and implementing significant projects such as an eCommerce workplace giving program that raised $120M. Earlier experience includes working as a Network Analyst at Harvard Medical School, where initiatives included Harvard's first secure wireless networking system. Andrew's educational background includes a BS in Philosophy from Ohio University and further training from the Institute for Civic Leadership/Lift360. Key competencies encompass privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA), cybersecurity, master data management, and enterprise architecture.
