Gregory R. Johnson

Gregory R. Johnson, MD, SFHM, FAAFP, FACP, currently serves as the Senior Vice President and System Chief Medical Officer at UnityPoint Health since July 2024. With extensive experience at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston as a Clinical Associate Professor since 2010, Gregory also held various leadership roles at Sound Physicians from 2009 to May 2024, including Chief Health Equity and Diversity Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Hospital Medicine. Gregory's work has focused on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within healthcare, leading initiatives to eliminate disparities, and enhancing clinical performance across numerous programs. Gregory's educational background includes an M.D. from UTHealth Houston, an A.B. in Biology/Anthropology from Dartmouth College, and an MBA, complemented by a certification in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leadership from Northwestern University.
