Matthew Preston Jones

Senior Director Park Operations at Universal Destinations & Experiences

Matthew Preston Jones has a diverse work experience in the theme park industry. Matthew Preston started their career at Northwest Airlines as a Quality Service Agent. Matthew Preston then co-founded a housing company called Maui Homes. Moving on, they joined Universal Parks & Resorts, where they served as a Site Logistics Supervisor during the construction of Universal Studios Japan. Matthew Preston also worked as an Associate Producer for the Hollywood Premier Parade.

Later, Matthew joined Universal Studios Japan (USJ LLC) and took on various roles such as Project Director for roller coasters like "The Flying Dinosaur" and "Hollywood Dream the Ride, Backdrop." Matthew Preston also served as the Project Director for outdoor live shows and attractions like Universal Wonderland and Magical Starlight Parade.

After their tenure at USJ, Matthew returned to Universal Parks & Resorts, where they became the Senior Project Director for several high-profile projects. This included leading the Mario Kart project for Super Nintendo World and the Universal On Parade project at Universal Studios Beijing Resort. Matthew Preston also served as the Senior Project Director for the "Universal Spectacle Night Parade: The Best of Hollywood" project.

Most recently, Matthew Preston Jones joined Universal Destinations & Experiences as the Senior Director of Park Operations. Matthew Preston'sresponsibilities include overseeing all technical show and event content development at Universal Studios Japan and managing a large team.

Matthew Preston Jones obtained their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a specialization in Entrepreneurial Studies from Hawaii Pacific University from 1995 to 1998. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Thunderbird School of Global Management, focusing on International Management & Global Portfolio Management, from 2002 to 2003.
