Jason Rappaport has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. In 2002 and 2003, they worked as a Tax Intern at KPMG US and Deloitte respectively. In 2006, they interned as a Legal Intern at Jazz at Lincoln Center, where they reviewed and executed artist contracts and negotiated tour agreements. From 2007 to 2007, they served as a Mediator at the Fordham Law School Mediation Clinic.
In 2008, Rappaport joined Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP as an Associate in the Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Group. There, they gained extensive experience representing official committees of unsecured creditors, individual creditors, and third-party investors. Their responsibilities included reviewing and analyzing legal documents related to bankruptcy and restructuring, drafting legal research memoranda and motion papers, and addressing various bankruptcy issues.
Rappaport worked as Of Counsel at Frejka PLLC from 2015 to 2017. In this role, they provided legal counsel and support to the firm.
Since 2017, they have been with Universal Standard, starting as the Head of Business Development until May 2018. From May 2018 onwards, they have held multiple roles at Universal Standard, including General Counsel, Chief of Staff, and currently, Head of Retail.
Jason Rappaport has a strong educational background in both law and accounting. Jason obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Florida - Warrington College of Business in 1999-2004. Jason continued their studies at the same institution and earned a Master's degree in Accounting as well. In 2005-2008, Jason attended the Fordham University School of Law, where they successfully completed their Juris Doctor degree, specializing in Law.
To further enhance their qualifications, Jason obtained additional certifications. In 2006, they became a Certified Public Accountant, receiving their certification from the State of Illinois. In 2009, they were admitted as an Attorney by the New York State Bar.
