Francisco Altimiras

Francisco Altimiras has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Francisco is currently serving as the Chief Technology/Data Officer at Instacrops Inc. Francisco holds multiple positions at ByBug, where they serve as a Board Member and an Advisor. Previously, they worked at Universidad de Las Américas as the Director of Master of Data Science and an Associate Professor. Francisco also served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Davis. In the past, they worked at Telefonica as a Senior Data Scientist and Data Scientist Researcher. Francisco has also worked as an Advisor at The Earth Says_ and as an Associate Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Additionally, they co-founded Protome and served as a Project Director and Researcher/ Data Scientist at Fraunhofer Chile. Francisco also had a brief stint as a Visiting PhD Student at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG).

Francisco Altimiras has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Universidad de Chile, which they obtained from 2007 to 2011. Francisco then pursued further education and earned an Engineer's degree in Biotechnology from the same university between 2011 and 2013. After that, they attended the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez from 2013 to 2018, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Engineering with a focus on Complex Systems. In 2019, Francisco pursued a Diploma in Machine Learning and Data Science at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Finally, they completed their education with a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the same university from 2020 to 2022.
