Carlos Arnaldo possesses extensive experience in academia and research, currently serving as Director at both the Centre for African Studies and Centro de Estudos Africanos since April 2015, and as Director of the Centre for Research on Population and Health since September 2011. In addition to these roles, Carlos has been a Demographer, Lecturer, and Researcher at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane since August 1996, enhancing scholarly contributions to the field of demography. Previously, from May 2007 to April 2015, Carlos held the position of Deputy Director for Research at the Centro de Estudos Africanos at the same university. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Demography and a Master’s in Demografia e Estudos da População from The Australian National University, complemented by an Honours degree in Geografia from Universidade Eduardo Mondlane.
