Jamal Atif

Vice President In Charge Of The Digital Sector at Université PSL

Jamal Atif has extensive work experience in academia and research. Jamal started their career in 2000 as a Master's and PhD student at Université Paris-Sud 11. Jamal then pursued a PhD at LIMSI-CNRS, which they completed in 2004. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as a PostDoc at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications.

In 2006, Atif became an Associate Professor at French West Indies and Guiana University, a position they held until 2010 when they moved to Université Paris-Sud 11 as an Associate Professor. Atif continued their academic career, becoming a Professor at Université Paris Dauphine - PSL in 2014. Jamal held this position until 2021, during which they also served as the Vice President in charge of the Digital Sector and Head of the MILES team.

In 2016, Atif took on the role of Chargé de mission "Science des données et intelligence artificielle" at CNRS - INS2I. Jamal further expanded their responsibilities in 2019, becoming the Head of the Transverse Program "Data" at PSL Research University and Deputy Scientific Director of PRAIRIE (PaRis Artificial Intelligence Research InstitutE) at PSL. Overall, Atif's work experience showcases their expertise in artificial intelligence, data science, and academic leadership.

Jamal Atif completed a Master/PhD degree in Computer Sciences from Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) from 2000 to 2004. Following that, they pursued a PostDoc degree in image processing at Télécom Paris from 2005 to 2006.
