Azlan Abd Aziz serves as an Academic Administrator at the Institute of Postgraduate Studies at USM since January 2021 and holds the position of Professor at Universiti Sains Malaysia since September 1998. In addition to teaching, Azlan Abd Aziz has been the Deputy Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the School of Physics and a Senior Researcher at both the Nano-Optoelectronics Research and Technology Laboratory (NORLab) and the Nanobiotechnology Research and Innovation Center (NanoBRI) within the Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine. Prior roles include Associate Professor and Deputy Dean for Industrial Linkages and Network, along with serving as Program Chairman for Engineering Physics. Azlan Abd Aziz earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Semiconductor Physics and Electronics from The University of Manchester, after obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) in Microelectronics Material and Device Technology from the same institution, along with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics and Maths from Bishop's University.
