Farzad Ismail serves as a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Dean at the School of Aerospace Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia since November 2008, focusing on teaching aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and propulsion systems, along with conducting research in CFD method development. Prior to this role, Farzad Ismail worked at the University of Iowa as a Senior Lecturer and Program Chairman, and as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, where contributions included CFD research and code development for ship hydrodynamics under the Office of Naval Research. Earlier experience includes positions as a Research Assistant and Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan, specializing in various CFD research areas and teaching core aerospace engineering subjects. Farzad Ismail holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering and Scientific Computing, as well as multiple degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Michigan.
