Eric Hammond

Eric Hammond has extensive experience in government affairs and legislative roles. Eric currently holds the position of Director, Corporate & Government Affairs, & Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at USRA since August 2018. Prior to this, Eric worked at the National Science Foundation from September 2014 to August 2018, serving as a liaison between the Capitol Hill community and NSF. Eric developed working relationships with Congressional staff and external stakeholders to improve coordination on science and technology policy legislation. Before their role at NSF, Eric had a career in the U.S. House of Representatives, starting as a Staff Assistant for Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones from August 2007 to November 2008. Eric then served as a Legislative Correspondent / Legislative Assistant for Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge from December 2008 to December 2009, focusing on Energy, NASA, Telecommunications, and Science and Technology issues. Finally, from December 2009 to August 2014, Eric worked as a Legislative Assistant / Committee Staff for Ranking Member Eddie Bernice Johnson, where they helped shape the legislative agenda and conducted research and drafting in various policy areas including Science and Technology, Energy, Environment, Education, Energy, NASA, Agriculture, and Telecommunications.
