Devon Duncan has a strong background in talent and learning development, with experience in both leadership and specialist roles. They currently work for UCAR - The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research as the Talent & Learning Development Lead, where they spearhead the creation, implementation, and evaluation of employee training programs. They also lead the Talent and Learning Development team, facilitate over 300 hours of training annually, and expand UCAR's mentoring program. Prior to this role, Devon worked as a Talent & Learning Development Specialist at UCAR, where they facilitated leadership training and managed courses in Workday Learning.
Before joining UCAR, Devon worked at Missouri State University in various roles. They served as an Academic Advisor for the College of Business Graduate Program, where they evaluated candidate credentials and provided customer service. They also worked as an Instructor, teaching a freshman orientation class and developing curriculum for college-level research papers. Additionally, Devon served as the Assistant Director of Student Engagement for Transfer Student Programs, creating events and training to enhance student life and leading a mentoring program for transfer students. They also worked as a Graduate Assistant in New Student and Family Programs, managing programming logistics and facilitating training for orientation leaders.
Devon also gained experience as a Tutor at Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services, where they maintained student records, provided feedback, and created tutoring materials. They also worked briefly at Baylor University as an Admissions Telecounselor and as a Spiritual Life - Chapel Student Leader. Overall, Devon Duncan has a diverse range of experience in talent and learning development, academic advising, student engagement, tutoring, and admissions.
Devon Duncan began their education at Baylor University - Hankamer School of Business in 2010 and completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Marketing in 2014. Following this, they attended Missouri State University from 2014 to 2016, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration.
In addition to their formal education, Devon has also obtained several certifications. In 2023, they earned a Certificate in Strategic Leadership from the Association for Talent Development (ATD). In 2022, they achieved the designation of Certified Executive Coach and Master Facilitator from the Center for Executive Coaching. They also obtained the certifications of Certified CliftonStrengths Coach and Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach from Gallup in January 2022.
