Nicholas Rome

Nick Rome is an experienced professional in ocean leadership and environmental policy with a current role as Senior Program Manager at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research since September 2022. Previously, Rome served as Program Manager for the Northwest Association of Networked Ocean Observing Systems at the University of Washington, overseeing various ocean-related projects. Rome's extensive background includes positions such as Assistant Director and Program Specialist at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership, where responsibilities involved coordinating activities across multiple U.S. regions and executing significant ocean observing initiatives. Earlier experience includes roles as a Policy Analyst at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute and as an Air Quality Researcher for the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District. Rome holds a Master of Arts in International Environmental Policy from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biological Science from Arizona State University.
