Jernej Kovac

Jernej Kovac is a highly experienced senior laboratory analyst and researcher at University Medical Centre Ljubljana, where responsibilities include postdoctoral research on the polygenic background of obesity and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (HH). Jernej has a strong background in genetics, having supervised the NGS lab in the diagnostic laboratory for genetics at UMC Children's Hospital Ljubljana. Previous roles include scientific consultant at Lek Pharmaceuticals, young researcher and PhD student at University Children’s Hospital in Ljubljana, and participation in research projects concerning the NOGO-A gene. Jernej holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Ljubljana. Additionally, Jernej has experience in education as a chemistry teacher and in design as a design editor for a journal.
