Janet L. May

Janet May is an experienced human resources professional with a career spanning over two decades in higher education. Currently serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since November 2021, Janet previously held similar leadership roles at Houston Community College and Pima Community College. Additional experience includes positions such as Assistant Vice President for Human Resources at Texas Tech University and Assistant Director of Human Resources - Employee Benefits at New Mexico State University. Janet holds a BA in English from McMurry University and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from New Mexico State University.
