Robert Carruthers

Robert Carruthers has over 10 years of experience in technology licensing and intellectual property management. Robert is currently working as the Associate Director of Technology Licensing at the University of Alberta. Prior to this, they worked at FPInnovations as the Manager of Licensing, where they managed all licensing activities and generated royalty revenues for a research institute in the forestry industry. Before FPInnovations, they served as the Licensing Manager and Senior Intellectual Property Manager at Innovate Calgary, where they were responsible for commercialization and patent protection of early-stage academic technologies. Robert also worked as a Technology Analyst in Engineering and Physical Sciences at University Technologies International.

Robert Carruthers obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta between 1999 and 2003. Robert then went on to pursue their Master of Science degree in the same field at the same university from 2004 to 2007.
